Kerrang! Contents Page Analysis
The contents page of this ‘Kerrang Legends’ goes across two pages and has a total of 9 pictures/photos, all these photos are related to the bands featured in the magazine. There are very limited numbers of colours on the contents page of the magazine and the main colours used are black which is used in the writing. And the other colour used is red which is used for the numbering of the articles and the pages they are on. Also on the contents page there is a column with the names of the editors, photographers, contributors etc. but there is no editorial. The edition I have analysed is a special edition and this why there is no editorial as in all Kerrang magazine there usually is. This contents page, I feel appeals to its target audience because of the amounts and content of the pictures. Also the simple colours of black and red are associated with the genres of music this magazine covers, as well as this, the fonts from the front cover are followed onto the contents page.
NME Contents Page Analysis:
The second page that I analysed is an NME contents page. Unlike the Kerrang contents page this contents page has one picture which on goes across one page. There is also few colours used on the NME page like the Kerrang magazine and these colours are also the same, red and black. Unlike Kerrang this NME contents page has more information about the articles and also has a small article printed on the contents page, this means that magazine is target to an audience who like information and lots of, unlike Kerrang which has more pictures. The font of the contents page is also carried over from the title page and the colours of the writing is carried out throughout the magazine. There is also an advert on the contents page which is offering readers subscription to the magazine for discount prices.
